Here is the results a few days ago...
And now we have a whole bunch of concentrated zig-zag hoding down those petals...
And this is the rest of the story. A lot of different quilt clases involved in each part of this ensemble...
Don't want to say too much more til I have more to show. Got a lot more to do and then the question of what exactly should the border be. Simple mitered, in one of the main colors, or something a bit more complicated. Any thoughts???
I'm considering that pretty lime green of the leaves as an accent and keeping with the spring theme I am hoping for.
Meanwhile, out in the yard the flowers are opening up daily, and the dark purple Iris, my fav, are just starting, right after the little lighter-colored ones.

This is gorgeous ! Maybe a plainish border so not to detract from the lovely applique.
Hi....thanks so much for your comment my my effort in the ALQS...yours looks stunning btw.....I had plans to do lots of free motion quilting on this one but my machine had other plans!! so...it was back to the drawing board....I have fused the pieces and done raw edge applique...so just stitched around the pieces to hold them down.....and followed it up with a bit of free motion .... I was talking out loud to the machine threatening to go and buy a new one of another brand by then...LOL....and resorted to stitching around the pieces to quilt...I will post a couple of close up pics if you like....
Love it! Everyone is making such cute quilts :)
