Garden Art...

I've shifted back to my glass sculpture for the summer months...meaning shopping for great glass pieces that go together to make cool sparkly totems, birdbaths, hanging pieces, and anything else I can think of to do with Goodwill goodies...

Recent ones include this lighthouse with teal blues...

Here it is up close.  I have discovered the ceramic pieces have a much longer life outside if I find a glass piece to go over them...

This is the wonderful colbal color with crystal.  That bottom piece is really heavy so this is quite sturdy.  Too bad my camera angle is not the sturdiest.... looks a bit tipsy...lol

Looking closely you would see a little pink piggy and his butterfly friend in the top clear glass part.  And of course, his glass colors had to be pink with a touch of pearly white.

Speaking of little characters...here is a little black bear climbing up a tree stump.  His accompaning glass is black and green and this totem is rather slim and taller than most.  Made if for the camp/resort that carries some of my crafts.  Their camping symbol used to be a black bear.  Thought the campers might like seeing it in their own garden when they go home.

This piece has soft green spray paint to add to the pink glass  to pick up the colors of the centerpiece of the little garden fairy and her blooms.

A favorite of mine...in purples...added crystal drops and crystal flat marbles for bling.

Last for today...my first all glass birdbath with some serious weight in that bottom piece to keep it from blowing over in a good wind.  

Framing...a necessary task.

Had to get to work on framing all these fun scenes I am making with the inks.  So here we go...

This one is Quiet Pond, one of my larger tries...

And I really like how it looks in its big white frame.  One of those times it was worth getting a nicer frame with a mat.

 

This little guy has quite a reflection on him, but the trees give you the idea of the scene...White Birches.

And this bright perky one was cut to size for the frame, as I had painted it a long while ago, and thought it needed a cool pic to put in it.

How cool is that?

My Stare Eyes quilt made it into a Treasury page on ETSY. That means someone liked it and put it in with a group of favorte pics that has to do with "eyes"


And I finally got my "Purple Fantasy" finished. I added beads at the last, mainly to hold down the angelina fibers. But it did fill in and hold down the rather empty black areas, too. I could have done more quilting there if I had thought it out at the beginning. But sometimes that makes me more inventive at the end. Like that big pearly purple button, thatI hadn't even found when I started. I do find that the ideas usually flow along as it comes together, rather than being completely perfect before I start. That is the fun of it for me, I think, seeing what I can come up with on my own with no pattern. This close-up may show the details a bit better. And it is all PURPLES - not blues. Darn the internet, not being able to read the purples!!! Or is it my camera?
That is a tiny piece of a feather boa in the center and couched yarn squiggling next to double-needle threads, and triple bugle beads with a silver round one at the bottom
The half circles are hand-dyed(that I did about two years ago) and those twisty purple 'arrows' coming out from the half-circles are the foil covered cloth I did a few days ago. I love that stuff, and have to get to work with more of it. Fun!
